| Message From the Webmaster |
Troop 1201 has had a well maintained web site since
before my arrival to the Troop in February 2006, thanks to the
efforts of Mr. John Wunderlich who maintained the site for 4
years. I assumed responsibility for the site in September 2008.
My goal is to continue in that tradition. To do so, I need your
help!
- Your photos are needed. If you attend an activity
or event and have photos, please provide a set of your
original digital images. I can accept photos on CD or DVD,
flash memory cards, thumb drives or via e-mail for a limited
number of photos. I would prefer not to download images
you have uploaded to a service, such as Picasa or Flickr,
since they often reduce the quality of the image. The photo
archive contains full resolution photos that can be downloaded
and printed. Full resolution photos are the best to work
with if you want to crop or process the photos before printing.
- Event information is needed. If you are the coordinator
for an event, I need the sign-up/release form as soon as
possible. I also need details for the calendar. If you
have text that you want desplayed under the calendar description,
send it along. Otherwise I will lift text out of any e-mails
that I get my hands on.
- News items are wanted. If you have news about members of the Troop,
please drop me a note. We especially want scout related
news, but other news that demonstrates scout spirit is
also welcome.
- Corrections... If you see something that needs fixing. Please let
me know.
Other notes:
- Photos on this web site are designed to showcase Troop activies and
only include the best photos from those submitted.
Due to space limitations, photos on this site have
also been reduced in size and quality.
- Browse around the photo archive and download the photos you like. If you would like a whole set of photos from an event, you can ask me for a CD or DVD. I'll also put them on flash memory if you like. Ask in advance and I can put it on my laptop and we can transfer files to your USB flash drive or SD memory card.
- This page has links to a number of resources related to web site
development. It is my hope that it will serve as a
resource for the next webmaster who comes along. If
you have web skills and would like to take over, please
let me know.
